Police warn speeding drivers in Markham and Penmaen

Police officers have been out in the Markham and Penmaen areas conducting traffic operations.

Residents have raised concerns about speeding in the area.

On Wednesday, January 27, officers conducted traffic checks on The Rhiw and B4251, Oakdale Terrace, Penmaen, and on Abernant Road, Markham.

On The Rhiw, which is signposted as an access only road, 15 vehicles were stopped and drivers were given verbal and written warnings.

On the B4251, Oakdale Terrace 100 vehicles were speed checked and the average speed recorded was 23mph. The speed limit is 30mph.

On Abernant Road 100 vehicles were speed checked. A number of vehicles were stopped and drivers received verbal warnings, however, the average speed recorded was 27 mph. The speed limit is 30mph.
