A 28-year-old woman is in a critical condition in hospital after she was found in a river near Trecenydd.
Police and emergency crews were called at around 7.30am this morning, Thursday, March 3, to reports of a woman who was believed to have entered the Nant Yr Aber river, near to the Texaco garage on St Cenydd Road, Trecenydd.
A Gwent Police spokeswoman said: “A 28-year-old woman was recovered from the river and taken to the University Hospital of Wales and is currently in a critical condition.
“Officers are not treating the incident as suspicious and enquiries are on-going.”
