Pupils and staff at Gilfach Fargoed Primary School are celebrating after receiving a glowing report from inspectors.
Estyn’s report states current performance is ‘good’ with the prospects for improvement in the future being ‘excellent’.
Howard Llewellyn, Chair of Governors, said: “This is a superb result for the school and the community of Gilfach. The Governing body would like to thank everyone for their continuing hard work and dedication to achieve this.”
Another fine example of the improved education contribution made by Labours Caerphilly Council ,and, particularly the contribution to the Education of the boroughs Children made by Caerphilly Council`s Cabinet and the Cabinet member for education Councillor Passmore. Who have all ensured a record level of investment into the schools of the borough.
But, most of all, Councillor Llewelyn has said praise has to be heaped on, pupils, teachers and the head for this wondefull endorsment of what can be achieved with commitment and hard work.
Haha! The school has been rated ‘good.’ Schools, on average, in Caerphilly are still way behind schools in England, and even further behind the average for all developed countries. the PISA reports confirm this – it is a fact.
That is not a glowing report. That is an average report. I would have expected the school to be rated ‘excellent,’ Celebrating mediocrity is a terrible thing.
Further proof that Caerphilly Council are getting on with the job the electorate charged them with when they booted out the Welsh Natuionalist at the last election, Opening new schools, improving education standards in existing schools, open and developing libraries and new libraries. etc .etc. etc.
