56-year-old man arrested in connection with A472 Hafodyrynys Road collision

A 56-year-old man from the Blaenau Gwent area has been arrested on suspicion of driving without due care and attention and failing to stop, after a man was knocked-down on the A472 Hafodyrynys Road.

At around 3.45am on Sunday, May 8, a 37-year-old man from Crumlin was struck by a car travelling between Crumlin and Hafodyrynys on the A472. He is currently in a critical, but stable, condition in University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff.

Officers are still keen to speak to several motorists that were in the area at the time of the collision.

These are: Two motorcyclists and travelling through Hafodyrynys, from Pontypool towards Crumlin; a driver of a Ford Focus estate travelling through Hafodyrynys from Pontypool to Crumlin; and a driver of what is believed to be a Mercedes C-Class Compact travelling through Hafodyrynys from Crumlin to Pontypool.
