A Caerphilly-town based barber has clocked up her 30th anniversary in the haircutting business.

Alison Attwood-Rees, 46, of Topkutz, in Bartlett Street, started studying 30 years ago this month at Pontypool college.

Over the years she has seen styles come and go, her favourite is the Mohican, and has even cut the hair of Welsh rugby international James Hook and the late New Zealand player Jerry Collins.

Alison, who was recently awarded a Mastercraftsman diploma in barbering, said the best part of her job was talking to customers.

She added: “I’d like to thank them all past and present for supporting me over the years.”
