UPDATE: Blackwood girl, 16, has been located

Chavika Akehurst, 16, is missing from Blackwood

UPDATE: Chavika Akehurst has been found, Gwent Police confirm.

Gwent Police is appealing for information to find a “high risk” missing teenager.

Chavika Akehurst, 16, was last seen at 8.15pm on Saturday May 28by carers in Blackwood when she left her home address and has not been seen since.

The teenager, who police describe as “high risk” is white, around 5ft 1 in tall and of a large build. She has shoulder-length brown hair with blonde ends.

At the time she went missing, she was wearing a khaki Parker jacket, red jacket, black jumper, black leggings, Nike Trainers with white bottoms and was carrying a red/mustard rucksack and a plastic sports bag.

She speaks with an English accent.

Dedicated, specialist police resources are investigating this incident.
