Cash machines tampered with Blackwood

News | | Published: 14:46, Wednesday July 6th, 2016.

A warning has been issued that cash machines in Blackwood, Newport and Abertillery have been tampered with by thieves.

Police are appealing for information to identify these two men pictured in the CCTV below.

A spokesperson for Gwent Police said: “It is suspected the internal belt within the machine has been adjusted to prevent money being dispensed to the customer.

“The offenders then return to the machine a short time later and remove the money from inside the machine.

“We are asking members of the public to be vigilant as the appearance of the ATM machine remains unchanged except for two small scratches on the shutter which dispenses the money.”

Anyone with information can call 101 quoting log number log 431 of 04/07/16.
