Firefighters are battling another mountain blaze in Elliots Town, New Tredegar – less than fortnight since the same spot was ablaze.

Two crews from South Wales Fire and Rescue Service are in attendance after they were called on Tuesday, May 9, at around 2.05pm.

Crews from Aberbargoed and Rhymney attended the blaze, which was extinguished at around 3.27pm.

A South Wales Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said no properties were at risk, but that they were treating the fire as deliberate.

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service were called to the same mountain in New Tredegar, at around 11am on Thursday April 27.
