Charity the Help4Wales Foundation has been named New Business Start-Up of the Year at the Monmouthshire Business Awards.
The charity, based at Welsh ICE on Caerphilly Business Park, provides temporary safe havens for the pets of domestic abuse victims.
Jemma Shepherd, Director of the Help4Wales Foundation, said: “This is a major achievement for us and I would like to take this opportunity to firstly thank the judges for thinking we deserve this award.
“I’d also like to thank my colleague Kieran Russell and my hard working team including volunteers and fosterers. Without their help and support I wouldn’t be where I am now.”
This year’s Monmouthshire Business Awards were expanded to cover the ‘old Monmouthshire’ – towns and cities that were part of the county prior to 1965.
Winners were announced at a gala dinner and presentation night at the Celtic Manor Resort in Newport held on Friday, October 6.
Awards founder Janet Harris said: “This was the biggest and best awards we have staged by far and the atmosphere at the gala dinner and presentation night was second to none.”
