Long waiting times at Caerphilly County Borough’s reopened recycling centres has led to calls for the council to introduce a booking system at the sites.
The sites were closed for two months due to the coronavirus pandemic, with four sites reopening on May 26, while the other two sites reopened a day later.
Social distancing is in place across all six sites in the borough.
Estimated waiting times at some waste sites are currently as high as two to three hours.
However, waiting times were as high as four hours when the sites were first reopened.
All other local authorities in Gwent currently have an appointment system in place, meaning residents have to book in advance to use the waste sites.
However, Caerphilly County Borough Council has no plans to implement such a system.
A council spokesman said: “We are not considering an appointment system as we want to make the facilities as accessible as possible for local residents.
“We have more sites than any other local authority in Gwent and although we experienced a high volume of traffic when the sites reopened, things are now starting to settle down.
“We would like to thank residents for their patience and remind them to only use the sites for material that cannot be disposed of through our many other waste collection services.”
