Caerphilly comic publisher Cosmic Anvil turns to crowdfunding

Age of Revolution is set in a world with no scientific knowledge

A Caerphilly-based comic book publisher has turned to the internet to help fund its new project.

Cosmic Anvil, based at the Welsh Innovation Centre for Enterprise on Caerphilly Business Park, is the publishers of Age of Revolution.

The comic series is set in a world where all scientific knowledge has been lost. It pits scientists and the military against magic spellcasters as ideological opposites.

First published in July 2013, the series is currently on its fifth edition and Cosmic Anvil now wants the issues published together in a special edition – complete with two further issues and other extras such as initial concept art.

The firm is hoping to raise £1,500 through the Kickstarter website to fund the print run.

Huw Williams, Cosmic Anvil co-founder and creator of Age of Revolution , explained: “My aim for Cosmic Anvil is that we can prove that the independent comic scene in Wales is alive and kicking and it’s not just the big names like Marvel and DC that can succeed.”
