Building services company SCS Group is expanding with a new Birmingham office.
The Tredomen-based firm, one of the UK’s leading providers of building management, ventilation and smoke control, will operate from a new base at The Innovation Centre in Longbridge Technology
The company has installed its systems in thousands of buildings nationwide. Recent projects include the £1.5 billion Westfield Stratford City development, hailed as the gateway to the 2012 London Olympic Games and set to become the largest urban shopping centre in Europe when it opens in 2011.
The company, which recently opened a new office in central London, has a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Dorset and a national network of fully qualified project engineers. It specialises in designing integrated building services packages that simplify installation and can reduce costs by around a third.
Managing director Allan Meek, said: “We are seeing an increased demand for integrated building management solutions where everything from ventilation to energy management is all controlled on one network. Our intelligent systems can significantly reduce costs and installation time.
“The Birmingham office is the next step in helping us to achieve our ambitious growth plans. Our new permanent presence in the city means that our engineers can concentrate on clients’ needs and deliver a truly personal, responsive service. It will also help us expand our client base in a potentially lucrative market given that there is an estimated £17.5 billion worth of investment planned over the next ten years in Birmingham, £12 billion in the city centre alone.”
