Nice Gift Shop’s Christmas decorated shop window has been voted the best in Caerphilly

Nice Gift Shop on Clive Street, in Caerphilly town, has been announced as the winner of a shop-window Christmas display.

The competition is run by the Caerphilly Civic Society via its Facebook page with the winner decided by a public vote. Nice Gift Shop received the most with 259 ‘likes’.

Beauty at Eves, which is a beauty salon located on Pontygwindy Road, came second with 199 ‘likes’, while Nicola Downie Florist on Cardiff Road finished third with ‘183’ likes.

Debra Hale, owner of Nice Gift Shop, said: “I’m very pleased to have won this competition. The display took a couple of hours but I’m used to doing window displays like this one.”

She added: “One of my customers said I should enter the competition, so I thought it would be a great idea. I always like to win.”

Nice Gift Shop has been operating for six years and sells products such as cards, candles, household gifts and scarfs.

Mary Ann Jenkins of the Caerphilly Civic Society, said: “Congratulations to Nice Gift Shop for their beautiful display and also well done to everyone else who has been nominated.

“It’s been wonderful to look at all the beautiful windows this festive season.”
