Entry into Caerphilly Castle will be free on St David’s Day.

The 13th century castle is one of 16 Cadw sites that will be free to enter across Wales as the country celebrates its patron saint’s day.

To be able to visit the castle for free, tickets must be pre-booked online at obv.sr/Mar1cc

Welsh Government minister says further investment at Caerphilly Castle “worth looking at”

Welsh Government’s minister for culture, tourism and sport, Dafydd Elis-Thomas AM, said: “Cadw is committed to making Wales’s heritage accessible to everyone and offering free entry on St David’s Day is a fantastic way to do so — all while celebrating our patron saint.”

“I hope this opportunity will encourage local people and visitors alike to discover the wonder of Welsh heritage on St David’s Day – and beyond.”
