More than 800,000 people in Wales have now received their first coronavirus vaccine dose.
As of 10pm on Wednesday night (February 17), 807,351 people had received their first dose, according to figures published by Public Health Wales.
A further 12,988 people had received their second vaccine.
Priority group progress across Wales
So far, 89.9% of people aged 80 and above have received a first vaccine dose, while 91.4% of people aged 75-79 have been given their first dose.
Of those aged 70-74, 90.6% have had their first dose.
Meanwhile, 84.9% of care home workers, 82.4% of care home residents and 81.5% of people aged between 16 and 69, who are classed as extremely clinically vulnerable, have had their first vaccine.
More than 120,000 healthcare workers have also had a first dose.
The Aneurin Bevan University Health Board (ABUHB) has administered 111,627 coronavirus vaccine doses.
What area does ABUHB cover?
The ABUHB area covers the whole of Caerphilly County Borough, as well as Torfaen, Blaenau Gwent, Newport, Monmouthshire and part of Powys.
A mass vaccination centre is currently up and running at Newbridge Leisure Centre.
Councillor Philippa Marsden, leader of Caerphilly County Borough Council, urged residents who have been invited for a vaccine to take up the offer.
After visiting the vaccination centre, Cllr Marsden said: “I can assure you from what I’ve just seen it will be a safe, well-managed and stress-free process. I would like to thank all involved for their efforts.
“Remember, you do not need to do anything in order to get the vaccination. All eligible residents will be contacted with an appointment, so there is no need to ring your GP, health board or the council to make enquiries.”
Resident Irene Williams, who received her vaccine at Newbridge Leisure Centre, contacted Caerphilly Observer to “congratulate everyone there for running such an efficient service”.
Ms Williams said: “There were about 20 people in front of me, but I was seen within about five minutes. The staff were friendly, caring and had such a positive attitude that I left there feeling much happier than when I arrived.
“It was a really well-oiled machine and showed the NHS at its best. Thanks also to the army who were also marvellous.”
This week, bus operator Stagecoach launched a new bus service to and from the vaccination centre.
