A 28-year-old woman has died following a crash on the A472 between Crumlin and Hafodyrynys Road.
The crash, which involved one car – a black Dacia Sandero – happened at around 3.50am on Saturday, January 14.
Gwent Police attended the incident alongside the Welsh Ambulance Service.
The woman, who was a passenger in the car, was taken to hospital, where she later died. Her next of kin have been informed and are receiving support from specialist officers.
A 31-year-old man from Ebbw Vale was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving while unfit through drink and drugs. He remains in police custody.
Gwent Police is investigating and has urged anyone with information to get in touch, particularly those with CCTV or dashcam footage on the A472 around Crumlin between 3.30am and 4am that morning.
