70-year-old man remains in hospital following fatal Caerphilly crash

A 70-year-old man remains in a “serious condition” after a fatal crash in Caerphilly, which claimed the life of a 60-year-old man.

The crash happened on the A468 between the Pwllypant and Bedwas Bridge roundabouts at around 5.50pm on Friday July 7.

Gwent Police, in a statement, said a 60-year-old Caerphilly man was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. His next of kin have been informed.

A 70-year-old man from the Caerphilly area remains in the University Hospital of Wales, where he is described as being in a “serious condition” according to Gwent Police.

No arrests have been made.

Officers investigating the collision would like to speak to any motorists who were travelling on the road between 5.30pm and 6.30pm and anyone who may have dashcam footage.
