Man released under investigation after BB gun reports

A 19-year-old man, who was arrested following reports of a BB or pellet gun being fired in Caerphilly town centre, has been released under investigation.

The man, from Llanbradach, was arrested on suspicion of assault and possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence. A car was also seized by officers.

Police confirmed the arrest on Tuesday July 7, and in an update on Thursday July 9 confirmed he had been released but enquiries were ongoing.

Police have also confirmed they are investigating a further alleged BB or pellet gun shooting – this time on Cardiff Road on Wednesday, July 8.
