Caerphilly County Borough Remembrance Services 2010

People across the county borough are getting ready to pay tribute to those who have lost their lives in military conflict.

Below are some of the events taking place this weekend.

  • Blackwood Cenotaph, Pentwyn Road – Sunday November 14. Assemble at 10.45am for laying of wreaths at the cenotaph.
  • Blackwood, Pontllanfraith Office – Saturday November 13. Assemble at 1.30pm for laying of wreaths at the cenotaph followed by service at St Augustine’s Church.
  • Caerphilly Town Centre – Sunday November 14. Assemble at 2.15pm at St Martin’s Church for parade to Cenotaph.
  • Machen, St John’s Church – Sunday November 14. Assemble at Machen car park for parade to church. Service at 10.45am and laying of wreaths following service.
  • Maesycwmmer Community Garden – Sunday November 14. Assemble at the Community Garden, The Crescent, Maesycwmmer for service followed by laying of wreaths.
  • Oakdale War Memorial – Sunday November 14. Assemble at Oakdale Post Office at 10.40am for parade to war memorial and laying of wreaths.
  • Rhydygwern, St James Church, Rudry – Saturday November 13. Assemble outside the Griffin Inn at 10.45am for parade to Rudry Cenotaph for laying of wreath.
  • Risca Town Centre – Sunday November 14. Assemble at Rifle Street at 10am for 10.30am march to Risca Cenotaph. Service starts at 11am.
  • Bedwas Town Centre – Sunday November 14. Assemble at Bedwas Social Club at 10.40am. Service at Cenotaph at 10.50am.
  • Llanbradach – Sunday November 14. Parade gathers in the central car park at 10.20am to march to cenotaph at approx 10.30am.
  • Nelson – Sunday November 14. St. John’s Church, High Street, Nelson. Service at 10am followed by parade to Memorial and Service there at 11am.
  • Cefn Fforest – Sunday November 14. Service at St Thomas Church at 10am followed by laying of wreaths at Cenotaph at 10.50am.
  • Fleur-de-lys – Sunday November 14. Meeting 10.30am by the Fleur de Lis community centre in the High Street.
