Two business directors have raised more than £11,000 for a cancer charity by trekking Peru’s Inca Trail.

Andrew Hall and Jason Beament, of Caerphilly based electrical contracting firm Ayjay Group, completed the ten day trek on May 13, raising the substantial amount of cash for Marie Curie’s Cardiff and Vale Hospice.

Andrew said: “Having had first-hand experience of the Hospice and the fantastic people who work there I fully appreciate the need to support them in whatever way I can.

“Almost every person I know has been affected by cancer and it is places like Marie Curie Hospice and the people who work there who make such a difference, not only to the patients but to the family and friends affected

“We are proud to have raised such a fantastic amount for a great local cause and thank everyone who has supported us in not only achieving the challenge but also helping to surpass our donation target.”

Andrew and Jason are no strangers to expeditions and raised money for The National Autistic Society in 2012 by completing the Three Peaks Challenge.

Jason said: “It is important to us to support charities and give back to our local community.”

“It’s great that so many people have become involved in different ways through support of this challenge.”
