Caerphilly Community Chorus and Children’s Choir have been named the joint winners of the prestigious WS Gwynn Williams Award.
The award is presented by music organisation Ty Cerdd for the amateur music group in Wales that has made the greatest improvement in the last two years.
It is the second time the chorus’ Artistic Director Nigel Jones, has won this award. He previously won with his Oakdale Youth Choir in 1990.
A chorus spokesperson said: “We are thrilled to be awarded this prize and are already planning ahead for the next few years.
“We will be continuing to encourage youngsters and potential choristers of all ages to try choral singing and nurturing young talent.”
