Lightning struck a church in Abercarn causing a fire in the bell tower during storms on July 18.
The blaze broke out just before 1am in the disused St Luke’s’ Church.
Fire crews attended the scene and the small fire was under control by 1.30am.
The hot weather has caused a number of thunder and lightning storms over across Wales over the last week.
