Land Rover stolen from Pontllanfraith garage

Police are appealing for information after a Land Rover was stolen from a car sales garage in Pontllanfraith.

The theft happened on Commercial Street between 9pm and 11.30pm on Friday, December 5.

Also stolen from the garage was a stereo from a van.

The Land Rover Freelander was eventually found by police.

A 43-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of burglary and is currently on police bail.

On the same night, a brick was thrown through the windscreen of a Peugeot 107 parked on Tram Road and damage was also caused to the door of the post office on Commercial Street

Blackwood Sergeant Mark Thomas said officers would be carrying out extra patrols in the area.

Fuel theft
Police are appealing for information following an attempted fuel theft in the Pontllanfraith area.

At around 3.15pm on Friday, November 27, two men were seen on Tram Road attempting to syphon fuel from a vehicle.

They made off from the scene on a quad bike.

Anyone with information can call Gwent Police on 101 quoting log 278 27/11/15.
