Caerphilly Observer has been nominated in the Community Journalism of the Year category in the 2019 Wales Media Awards.
The awards ceremony takes place on Friday, March 22, at the Mercure Holland House Hotel in Cardiff.
The independent newspaper has won the award four times before and is hoping to make it a fifth consecutive success.
This year, the newspaper is up against Grangetown News and Swansea-based journalist Liz Perkins.
Richard Gurner, Publisher and Editor of Caerphilly Observer, said: “Being nominated again for this award is a testament to the hard work of our team.
“It takes a lot to put a newspaper out and it’s an honour to be recognised in this way by others in the industry.”
The awards, organised by the Journalists’ Charity, celebrate and promote great journalism in Wales, and will be hosted by BBC Wales presenter Lucy Owen and ITV Cymru Wales’ Jonathan Hill.
