A man who was caught dealing cocaine and ecstasy at a nightclub has been handed a four-year prison sentence.
Leon Sullivan, 23, of Claude Road, Caerphilly, was sentenced at Cardiff Crown Court on February 5.
He pleaded guilty to charges of conspiring to supply cocaine and possession with intent to supply cocaine.
Sullivan was involved with a drug dealing gang headed up by Joshua Billingham, of Standard Street, Trethomas – who was one of three men jailed last year following a two-year police investigation.
In November 2019, during that investigation, Sullivan was caught dealing cocaine and ecstasy at Cardiff Student’s Union nightclub, the court heard.
Representing Sullivan, Edward Mitchard said the defendant was following a “party lifestyle” at the time of the offences, having been struggling mentally after his partner’s miscarriage.
Sullivan will serve two years in prison before being released on licence for two years.
DC Michael Coles, of Gwent Police, welcomed the sentencing and said: “I’m pleased that another drug supplier operating in Caerphilly is now off the streets and in prison.
“We hope the sentence deters others from becoming involved in drug supply.
“Please keep telling us about your concerns about drug dealing so we can take action. You can report any concerns to us on 101 or alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
