Caerphilly history Facebook page leads to exhibition

A Facebook page showing photographs from Caerphilly town’s past is to be turned into a exhibition.

Nicola Rees, 42, from Lansbury Park, set up Caerphilly Local History on the social networking site and interest has exploded with residents posting their old pictures online.

Interest in the site has now led to an exhibition being organised for the pictures to go on display – but more old pictures are needed.

Nicola said: “Caerphilly Local History has accumulated a lot of photos, but would still love to have more especially for the exhibition. I am organising this event because there has been a great response from not just Caerphilly but all over the world.

“It will be held on the ground floor of Caerphilly Tourist Information. Hopefully with a good response, the exhibition could run for a while because the council have been great in providing the room with no deadline.

“I am sure there are still lots of photos out there, which we would love to show, in particular the Double Diamond.”

Thanks for spotting the typo Clive. I can assure you this is definitely the local version of Caerphilly Observer. I've changed it now.
