Caerphilly-born TV presenter Matt Johnson was the star guest at a school’s 50th anniversary celebrations.

Past pupils and staff of St Cenydd School, in Trecenydd, took their trip down memory lane on March 8.

This Morning’s Matt, who attended the school in the 1990s, said: “It felt really weird to be back – not much has changed.”

Headteacher Ian Kilcoyne added: “It’s great to see so many past pupils and members of staff coming together to celebrate 50 years. Here’s to the next 50.”

The school moved to its current site in 1963, but had to postpone its celebrations because of a school inspection last year.
