SENTENCED: Jordan Kerr and Colin Flew

Two men have been jailed for the armed robbery of a postmaster in Graig-Y-Rhacca, Caerphilly.

Jordan Kerr, 21, was sentenced to four years and Connor Flew, 19, for two years, eight months at Newport Crown Court on March 10. Both pleaded guilty to the robbery on January 17 this year.

Kerr, of Third Ave, Trecenydd, threatened the postmaster with an eight inch blade while Flew, of Heol Cae Bach, Pontypool, acted as a lookout before the pair fled with £1,600 cash.

They were arrested after they were captured on CCTV outside the premises before they concealed their faces with scarves and hoods.

A Gwent Police spokesperson said: “The sentences reflect the seriousness of the crime and the impact it had on the community.”
